Over the last 6 months, thousands of people took action to push our government to close the loophole that allows Canadian weapons to fuel Israel’s genocide. If the Carney government thought that siding with arms manufacturers instead of human rights by voting this bill down was going to stop us, they couldn’t be more wrong.
We are taking an arms embargo into our own hands.
On Thursday July 16 nearly 600 people joined an urgent movement briefing where we announced the next stage of the Arms Embargo Now campaign and delved into a new strategy to meet this new political context. Get involved here.

November 18 2025: Report Launch Movement Call – Exposing the US Loophole
On November 18 the evidence dropped. Arms Embargo Now launched a new report documenting a massive pipeline of weapons flowing from Canada to the US to Israel. The following day we held an urgent movement briefing to get everyone up to speed on what was uncovered, to debrief the debate that happened in Parliament just a few hours earlier, and to plan our next steps as a movement.
October 9 2025: Training Call – How to Talk to Your MP About the No More Loopholes Act

Right now, we have a huge opportunity to end Canada’s role in arming Israel. Jenny Kwan’s Bill C-233, the No More Loopholes Act, is going to a second reading soon. At that time there will be a critical vote when MPs will decide whether the bill moves forward or gets shut down.
This bill would change Canadian law to close the loophole through which Canadian corporations are continuing to sell weapons to Israel – unregulated, untracked, and without even requiring a permit – via the U.S.
We need to make sure this bill moves forward and gets turned into law. The best way to do that is for everyone demanding an arms embargo to ensure that your MP votes YES to passing the No Loopholes Act.
September 17 2025: Movement Briefing to Plan Our Next Steps and Change Canadian Law for an Arms Embargo
We’re closer than ever before to winning an arms embargo on Israel. Parliament just resumed. With a new Parliament comes new opportunities to expose Canada’s complicity in genocide, grow our movement and force the government to act. This fall, we’re coming together to close the loopholes that Canada is using to arm Israel. On September 17 we held a briefing call for everyone to share Arms Embargo Now campaign updates and plan our next steps as thousands of people coming together across the country to win an embargo on Israel.

May 18 2025 campaign webinar:
On May 18 2025 hundreds tuned in live for a status update on Canada’s arms trade with Israel, why sanctioning Israel begins with an arms embargo, and next steps in the Arms Embargo Now campaign.
Since launching a year ago, the Arms Embargo Now campaign has changed the national narrative about Canada’s complicity in Israel’s genocide, and forced our leaders to take unprecedented steps to slow down our export of arms to Israel. But we have a long way to go.
With a new government in Ottawa, and Israel’s siege and assault on Gaza reaching ever new levels of devastation, it is time to reconnect, reassess, and refocus on how to advance our demand and win a full two-way arms embargo.
Join organizers with the Arms Embargo Now campaign to hear a status update on Canada’s arms trade with Israel, learn why an arms embargo is a key way for our government to sanction Israel, and plug into the next steps of the campaign.
